Living as Charlie Kirk Did...

I thought it fitting as I kick off my new website and blog that I tell you a bit about me personally. I also want to let you know how the current events of Charlie Kirk's life and death have impacted me and my business for the good.

First and foremost, I am a born-again Christian saved by God's good grace by my faith alone. I did not earn my salvation by my own works but solely from God's lavish grace and mercy bestowed on a sinner like me. I was dead in my trespasses and thank God I am free from sin and free to live with Him both here on earth and forever in heaven. Praise be to Him!

I heard of Charlie's passing from my son, Lucas, when he got home from school on September 10th. I have to say, I didn't know Charlie's name, but I had heard of his organization Turning Point. As an avid learner, I quickly got up to speed on what Charlie was about, how he spread his message, and what his heart was like. I needed to understand and make decisions myself instead of listening to all of the chatter online. Once I realized that he was a Christian, and lived his faith out loud, I realized he had been the target of the enemy for some time.

As Christians in America, we certainly aren't attacked or imprisoned as others across the world are for their beliefs. It's safe for us to say we are Christians, just as long as we don't rattle the cage of anyone that isn't of our belief system.

For most of us, me included, I don't have a problem telling you I'm a Christian, but what I do struggle with is lovingly confronting you or discussing activities in your life that won't offer you God's best for life, such as:

  • you shouldn't live together before you're married

  • you shouldn't sleep with people of the same sex as you

  • you should really put away the alcohol for good, because it seems to be ruining your life, health and relationships

See how we struggle to say the truth? Why do we struggle? Why are we comfortable talking about the concepts of Christianity, but not as comfortable with the "boots on the ground, living it out" Christian actions? I'll tell you why I do:

  • I don't want to hurt your feelings

  • I don't want to appear rude

  • I don't want to take the chance on losing your friendship

  • I don't want to live with having to be seen as "that different" or "that woman"

This is what I recognized about myself when I learned about Charlie.

When I learned about Charlie, when I listened to Charlie and all of the things he said, debated or preached on, I saw a man that was different than me.

He wasn't afraid.

He wasn't afraid to speak the truth of God's word, to lovingly disagree with people and to do everything he could to speak truth to the lost.

He so completely loved his Lord and His calling on his life that he would rather have people not like him than let down his Father in Heaven by not sharing his divine calling.

So this is how Charlie impacted me, a Generation X 48-year old wife and mom of 2. This is how Charlie has changed my heart, my life, my business and my mission.

Charlie helped me realize that it's my responsibility as an ambassador for Christ to love others.

He helped me realize my biggest aim in life to love God and enjoy Him forever.

He helped me realize that I should align everything in my life with His plan and direction, not my own plans and directions.

These are my decisions beginning today all thanks to Charlie's love for America and for his fellow Christians:

Life Decisions

  1. I will live my life courageously as an ambassador of Christ. I will not be ashamed of the gospel and will instead speak the truth in love to all that come into my life.

  2. I will deepen my knowledge of American history, the founding fathers and the Christian principles our country is based on

  3. I will deepen relationships with other women in my church and be a woman of service

  4. I will search for and listen for God's will for my life concerning my business and will pivot or stay where I am based on his leading, not my own

  5. I will devote more of my time daily to the caring of my home and family, making it a happy and safe refuge from the challenges of daily life. Instead of saying "I'm too busy", I will instead take to heart the calling for women to be workers in their homes

If you have read to this point, thank you! I would encourage you to read about and study Charlie Kirk's life and think about any changes you want to make in your life based on his example.

Specifically as it relates to my business, I know that I want a component of my business to include help on the proper stewardship of our finances both our businesses and in our personal lives.

Thank you for reading my first blog post. Now you know a bit more about who I am, how I'm growing as a Christian, and a bit about my passion for my God, my family and helping your e-commerce and/or retail boutique business becoming more profitable and cash-flow positive than ever before!
